Project Overview

Archive Centre, Spotswood is a VicTrack asset property that AAH was contracted to remediate. Works included asbestos removals and floor grinding throughout the property.

• Remove all asbestos containing materials up to ‘non structural disturbance’
• Grind up to 100m2 of contaminated flooring
• Encapsulate divets to deep to grind
• Remove contaminated ceilings and grid work

Critical Factors/Challenges

The challenges and critical factors to successfully complete the works were.

• Guaranteed deadline, “works must be completed within 5 weeks”
• Additional concrete had to be laid to encapsulate old track area within the existing time restraints

Outcomes

• All works were completed within timeframe
• Met all of client’s requirements
• Works were completed in 3 sections
• 0 safety incidents
• Over 800 man hours worked
